Trojans' Bishop Among UF's Spring Signees

University of Findlay men's basketball coach Charlie Ernst announced the program's spring signees Thursday.

The list includes some names that should be familiar to area fans.

Findlay High School's Jake Bishop and Rossford High's Jake Morrison will each join the Oilers next year, as will Wright State transfer Anthony Johnson.

Also included was early signee Will Aljancic, who signed with UF in November.

Bishop –an all-TRAC and all-Ohio player for the Trojans -- is listed at 6-feet and 180 pounds. He averaged 19 points, three assists and three steals a game in his senior season this winter.

But statistics only tell part of the story.

"Jake was the ultimate competitor for us," said Bishop's high school coach, FHS' Jim Rucki in a release. "He brought his A game every day and his toughness rubbed off on all of our players."

Ernst said Bishop's intangibles made him attractive to UF.

"First and foremost, Jake Bishop is a competitor," Ernst said in a release. "He competes hard, is an unselfish teammate, and does whatever it takes. I'm excited to coach Jake and see how he fits into our program."
