Findlay Athletics Transformational Purpose Statement
We serve to inspire others through commitment and passion by building relationships, developing growth, and giving while making a positive impact on students and the community.
THE TROJAN WAY
To provide the student-athletes of Findlay City Schools with the best possible, education-based athletic experience by developing and graduating student-athletes within an environment that pursues excellence in everything we do.

Your character is more important than your athletic talents; your athleticism is only temporary, but your character will last a lifetime.
Be Compassionate | Be Grateful | Be Honest | Be Humble
ENTHUSIASM – Intense passion with a desire to excel for team and self. To want to compete for yourself, your family, and your team. Build champions through hard work, enjoyment, practice, and success.
EDUCATION- Fundamentally teach young people lessons about sports and life. Develop the whole student.
COMMITMENT- How well do you want to be? You never need to be able to tell anyone about your commitment-they will know by your actions. What are you willing to do to make your program and team better? Don’t be afraid to fail. Go after your goals- what are you willing to do?
RELATIONSHIPS- Focus on people. Great leaders are always fostering more robust relationships. Always work with the team during practice or behind closed doors to ensure greater trust. Keep relationships strong and in good status by communicating with athletes, coaches, parents, and the community.
LEGACY- We are beneficiaries of a rich and living tradition forged by all the efforts of all those who have come before us. We build upon our traditions which have been developed throughout our history—reflected in the facilities, performance, and character of the teams. Be passionate about being at practice and contests. Enjoy getting your program, team, and athletes better than the previous day. Compete at the highest level. Have pride and respect for yourself, your family, your team, your program, your school, and your community.
