FINDLAY – Findlay High's boys tennis team ran into a buzz-saw for the second straight day, with Toledo St. John's posting a 5-0 win over the Trojans at the FHS Courts.
One day after being swept by Anthony Wayne, the heavy favorite to repeat at Northern Lakes League champion, Findlay took on a St. John's juggernaut that in late March won the St. Edward's Invitational for the second year. The Titans have also swept two previous duel matches by 5-0 scores.
In recording a third 5-0 sweep this season. St. John's Miles Green (No. 1) defeated Owen Vick 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Adam Darwich beat Aidan Buddelmeyer 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 and Zenonn Zaleski (No. 3) top
Ashton Barger 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles, Logan McGurk and Sam Roberts (No. 1) scored a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Findlay's Tyler Asel and Jake Best, and Wasay Syed and Nyle Ahmed (No. 2) beat Quinn Tiell and Knox Lindhal 6-0, 6-3.
